HEMICRANEAL

The active ingredients are:
Paracetamol 400 mg
Caffeine 100 mg
Ergotamine (D.O.E.) tartrate 2 mg

HEMICRANEAL belongs to a group of drugs called: anti-migraine
HEMICRANEAL for migraine attacks and equivalent migraineurs with vasomotor headaches.
APPLICATION OF HEMICRANEAL
Do not use HEMICRANEAL
· If you are allergic to the components of HEMICRANEAL
· If you suffer from disorders of the peripheral circulation, the vessels and thus the blood supply of arms and legs (obliterative vascular disease) decrease; Heart disease reduced blood supply to the heart (ischemic heart disease); Hypertension; State of general infection (sepsis); Kidney failure; Liver disease.
· If you are treated with other drugs and the "Taking other medicines" do not know, you should make sure to first consult your doctor.
· If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Take special care with HEMICRANEAL
· Hemicraneal should only acute attacks of migraine headaches or vascular type (vasomotor headaches) and not taken as a treatment to prevent their occurrence.
· You should avoid prolonged use or higher doses of Hemicraneal because with higher than recommended, can cause dosages to a contraction of the arteries that can lead to brain or heart disease. This product contains lactose. If you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact. Your doctor before taking this medicine
Contains FCF (E110) and may cause allergic reactions. It can cause asthma, especially in patients who are allergic to aspirin.
Taking other medicines
Let us know if you are taking other medicines or have recently your doctor or pharmacist other medicines taken - even if it is not prescribed.
Especially if you are being treated with:
· Medicines that are treated with other medications to treat migraines, such as sumatriptan, almotriptan, naratriptan; Drugs used to treat HIV infection like amprenavir, nelfinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir, efavirenz; Macrolide antibiotics (erythromycin, clarithromycin and azithromycin); Drugs used to treat fungal infections such as ketoconazole, itraconazole or voriconazole and sibutramine, used for the treatment of obesity.
· With β-blockers (nadolol, oxprenolol, propranolol, timolol) and dopamine.
· Chloramphenicol can increase its toxicity due to the increased paracetamol.
Dosage of HEMICRANEAL
HEMICRANEAL tablets for oral use.
Follow these instructions from your doctor.
Adults: Start with 2 tablets at the time of occurrence of the first symptoms of the crisis; when it does not give way, it can be administered 1 tablet per hour. Not more than 6 tablets in one day or 10 tablets per week.
Children: Not recommended for children under 12 years.
Hemicraneal (supositorios) suppository for rectal administration.
Follow these instructions from your doctor.
Adults: Start with 1 suppository at the occurrence of the first symptoms of the crisis; if they do not yield, 1 suppository may be administered per 1 hour. Not more than 3 cones in a day or 5 suppositories in a week.
Children: Not recommended for children under 12 years.
If you take too much HEMICRANEAL you should quickly go to a medical center, even if no symptoms suggesting because they can be very serious and usually occur after the third day of dosing.
Symptoms of paracetamol overdose are nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin (jaundice) and abdominal pain.
Paracetamol overdose, administration of a single dose of more than 6 g in adults and in children at more than 100 mg per kg body weight. Patients taking barbiturates or chronic alcoholics are able to react more susceptible to the toxicity of an overdose of paracetamol.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
As with all medicines, HEMICRANEAL have side effects:
Tingling, numbness, or burning of the skin or cold hands and feet, pain and weakness in the arms and legs, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rashes, facial swelling, difficulty breathing, increased blood pressure and changes in hematology, as a reduced number of white blood cells (neutropenia or leukopenia). Rarely, angina or myocardial infarction.
At higher doses or prolonged treatments liver disorders (hepatitis) may occur.

Storage of HEMICRANEAL
