The product contains the active substance Etoricoxib. It belongs to a group of drugs called COX-2 selective inhibitors. These drugs, in turn, belong to the class of medicinal products designated as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).The medicine helps to reduce the pain and swelling in joints and muscles in patients aged 16 years or over with a degenerative or inflammatory joint disease (arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis [Bechterew's disease]) or with a gout attack (gouty arthritis ) to relieve.
The medicine is also used for the short-term treatment of moderate pain after dental surgery in patients aged 16 years or older.
What is osteoarthritis?
Arthritis is a joint disease. It is caused by the gradual removal of the cartilage, which cushions the bony ends. This results in swelling (inflammation), pain, touch sensitivity, stiffness and physical limitations.

The medicine must not be taken
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to etoricoxib or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

If you are currently experiencing an ulcer or bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.
If you are suffering from a severe liver disease.
If you have severe kidney disease.

The recommended dose is:
arthrosis
The recommended dose is 30 mg etoricoxib once daily. The dose can be increased as needed to a maximum dose of 60 mg etoricoxib once daily.
Rheumatoid arthritis
The recommended dose is 60 mg etoricoxib once daily. The dose can be increased as required to a maximum dose of 90 mg etoricoxib once daily.
Spondylitis ankylosans (Bechterew's disease)
The recommended dose is 60 mg etoricoxib once daily. The dose can be increased as required to a maximum dose of 90 mg etoricoxib once daily.
Treatment of acute pain
Etoricoxib should be used only for the duration of the acute complaints.
gouty arthritis
The recommended dose is 120 mg etoricoxib once daily and should be taken only for the duration of the acute complaints. The treatment period is limited to a maximum of 8 days.
Postoperative pain after dental surgery
The recommended dose is 90 mg etoricoxib once daily. The treatment period is limited to a maximum of 3 days.
Patients with liver disease
If you are suffering from mild liver disease, do not take more than 60 mg of etoricoxib per day.
If you have moderate liver disease, do not take more than 30 mg of etoricoxib once daily.
Children or adolescents
Children or adolescents below 16 years of age may not take the medicine.
Elderly patients
Dose adjustment is not required in elderly patients. As with all medicines, caution should be exercised in elderly patients.
If you take more of the medicine than you should
Never take more tablets than prescribed by your doctor. If, however, you take too many tablets, you should immediately see a doctor.
If you forget to take this medicine

Side effects
